Reading Month!
Well, it's by far the kids' FAVORITE DAY OF THE YEAR!! The last day of reading month. We spend the entire month working hard for everyone to meet their reading goals. There are "Theme Days" every Friday throughout the month that allows for funny dress up days.
Well, Friday was no different. It was "Pajama Day," and we read Dr Seuss's 'I don't want to get out of bed today' book. We had Breakfast food for lunch, and everyone one scurried to finish their reading goals.
Well, about 2:20 in the afternoon... The Cat in the Hat came to make sure everyone was reading during a "Drop Everything and Read" time. He brought along Thing 1 and Thing 2... and the WAR began! Needless to say, every individual (including teachers, cafeteria staff, maintenance, and the security guard) was SOPPING WET by the end of the day! What a great day it was!!
Pakistani Reception

Some of the BIS Staff had the awesome opportunity again to attend the Pakistani National Day celebration. It was a Wonderful Reception! This year was especially great because our students got to attend as well! The food was AWESOME! It's always very nice to get dressed up and be invited to this very important celebration!

Prayer Requests
Many of you probably just received the email from Chris. If you did not please let us know, and we will gladly add you to the Distribution list. Here are some specific point of prayer for us. Thank you for lifting these up to the Father for us!
Prayer Requests:
*New School Property- Pray for the signing of the contract that should take place next week! We have out grown our current property and need more space! The new property will allow us to minister MORE International kids! YEAH! But our prayer is, of course, not for numbers, but for who GOD wants to be here!! :)
*Our Car- We had to replace some hoses yesterday as it dumped all the Antifreeze out of the Radiator! Praise God we had made it home. Pray the bill will be inexpensive as we continue to pray for additional support.
*Youth Saturday- Chris is taking 5 boys from school out for a day of bowling, video games, and lunch. Pray our time together will be fun and give a way to share Jesus with them. Two of the boys are Buddhist and two have not accepted Christ YET.
*Lunch Bible Studies - Chris and Beverly both have Lunch time Bible studies that are helping to Disciple our students. Please pray for the Holy Spirit to open many doors, and that we will be effective.
*SMASH Retreat - Coming the first week of May. AWESOME opportunities for us to minister to our kids and to others in the community. Please also pray for our speaker who is coming up from Rio to serve with us! Pray that the small groups will help to motivate the kids to a DEEPER level of relationship with the Lord.
*Financial Support- Please pray God will bring up additional prayer and financial supporters. We have really been somewhat struggling over the last few months. The weak dollar has drained the exchange rate. As of now, we have lost over $400 in funding due to this is factor. We know God is the Master Provider. Just keep praying for those who He will call up to support us in this way. God bless all of you who have faithfully supporting us now. You are all such a blessing and know you are serving right here with us. We could not be here without you.

Busy Couple of Days!
We've had some busy days, but very fun!
Friday, we went with most of the Staff to some Waterfalls about 2 hours from here. Here are some pictures. If they don't look too clear, just click on them and enjoy! :) Caleb and Mom made it to a landing area where we put our feet in the cold water, and enjoyed the Beauty God created!! Chris made it all the way to the TOP!!! And with the others swam in the pool just as the water was pouring over the side! Amazing!!
Saturday, we took some of our Youth to City Park. They had a blast! We got sunburned, but it was a great day! Here are a few pics of that adventure!! :) We LOVE these kids!! :)

Happy Birthday to Me!!!
Thanks to everyone who sent wonderful Birthday Wishes!! They were Treasured!!
I had a great day on my Birthday (Wednesday)! It was "Funny Feet" day at school,
as we are celebrating Reading Month. We read Dr Seuss books every week. Yesterday was the "FOOT BOOK" and that's why our theme was Funny Feet.
We even had Foot Long Sandwiches! This picture of Chris and Caleb was on Favorite Character day. Caleb is Woody from Toy Story, and Chris is... well... Chris is Eli Manning. (So contrary to our Razorback Blood!! :) ) So I had a Great Birthday at school! Even better, was that I got to meet with one of my "babies" - you know they are ALL my babies!! But I got to have an awesome meeting with her and really talk about what Life in the Spirit is all about, and about what Walking with Jesus would look like. It was really awesome... I can't imagine any other way, that I would have liked to have spent my birthday... than 2 hours over some French Fries talking about Jesus and how awesome He is.
I had a great day on my Birthday (Wednesday)! It was "Funny Feet" day at school,
This week is very special to me... and to all who believe in the Resurrection Power of Jesus. This week in history was marked by a HUGE and Drastic change of the mood of the "Crowd." At the beginning of the week, they (the crowd) were throwing their coats in the road to honor Jesus, as He rode in on a donkey. They would CHEER "Hosanna" and call out to each other that HERE is the long awaited Messiah!! Here He is, they would say. ... ... Then a few short days later... the same crowd SCREAMING HATE and FUELING BITTER RAGE against the SAME MAN!! The SAME MAN that had come to THEM, to Save THEM and to Show them the WAY! They refused to hear, and joined with the crowd. The journey and the Emotional Roller Coaster of Christ this week... Too hard to imagine... As if the crowd was not enough... then one of YOUR OWN, betrays you... Sellin
THEN... the Awesome POWER of the EMPTY GRAVE! Without this, all that we know is FOR NOTHING! The Resurrection IS what makes us Christians... What makes Jesus's LOVE COMPLETE!
Amazing LOVE! Amazing JESUS! Amazing GRACE!

Guys Night Out!!
Chris had all the High School Boys over this past Friday night! The guys had a great time! There were 7 boys, Chris, and Casey (Herring). They came over after SMASH and spent the night, and went to HOT ZONE on Saturday. The guys stayed up most of the night hangin' out, playing video games, watching movies, and Swimming at 2am! The neighbors were quick to let us know that they had kept them up! (oops!) Chris really loved the time he got to spend with them. Becuase he is in the office most of the day, he doesn't really get to know these guys... so this was the PERFECT setting! The guys are now talking about the NEXT time they have a Guys night out! AND want Chris to be in the Talent Show with them!! (Oh Dear!!) :) :)
Please continue to pray for our Boys, and the relationships that we build with them!
Much love!

International Fair 08

We had our International Fair last Friday night! It was AWESOME! Just like last year, we had so many from the community show up! It was great!! I was in charge (with Bob) of the Junior High. They presented AFRICA! SO... I got to borrow a really cool African dress... with Head wrap and everything! Aren't I cute?!?! Chris was again a Passport Agent, and was in charge of International Security. Metal Detectors and all... well ok... not that much! It was a wonderful night.
We had prayed for 2 weeks for it not to rain, and God Graced us with this request! It was a beautiful night! Here are a few pics from the night. However, because I was with the Junior High, I didn't get any pics of Caleb, but I'm sure someone else DOES have some. His little Pre-K class did Antartica. Of course, it took 3 weeks to convince him he was doing Antartica... not TARTICA. He even told me one day when I corrected him... NO MOM... and ANT crawls on the Ground... I'm doing TARTICA! Anyway... at least he was PASSIONATE about his thought!! :) They had them dress up like little Penquins! Too Cute! I'll post when I get a pic of him in it!

middle of such a wonderful International experience! God is so Good!
Our next big project is Science Fair!! YEAH! Which this year, will be all on my shoulders! But I'm very excited. I've been reading up on how to make a great one!
Thanks for all your love, encouragement, and prayers!
Girls Night Out!
I had another great Girls Night Out sleepover two weeks ago. Again, I had 5 girls come and spend the night. We had so much fun! I love those girls!!! We hung out after SMASH and came back to the house. I got to introduce the girls to NACHO's!! We laughed because Nida had asked me if I had any "minced meat" and of course, I said no! I thought she meant like SPAM or something... she meant GROUND BEEF!

Saturday morning we got up and had breakfast. Several had never had SCRAMBLED eggs, and they laughed that I called it JELLY, not JAM. I love cultural differences!! Caleb had fun playing with us, and Tedgy was a HIT with the girls. They still are asking me how he is! :)

We then packed up and went to the Amusement park. We didn't get as sick or dehydrated like we did last time. We have several funny stories from that day!
So great to get a chance to hang out with them outside of school! I LOVE these girls!!!!

Happy New Year!!
We were so incredibly blessed to be able to get out of the city for a quick trip for New Years. We went to Rio and stayed with the Isbell family. We had so much fun! The
kids had a blast!!! Caleb had the best time on the beach running from the waves. He thought it was the funniest thing!! It was so nice and refreshing to be able to visit with friends and get a new perspective on the school year, and our purpose there! We are so thankful for the opportunity to 'Refresh!' What a Blessing!!
