Another Great Week!! And Another Great Confirmation!! We sent our Visa Packet off on 11/29. (The Majority of Visa's are taking about 8 weeks to get back from Brazil with some that take quite a bit longer!) It went to the Brazilian Consulate in Miami, where we thought it would sit for about 6 weeks while they asked for more documents and piddled around with procedures... We were praying for a smooth process as Scott and Daniel (From BIS) had worked so hard on getting more thorough documentation of the process to help the consulate out. We got an email from Daniel that Miami thought our Papers WERE PERFECT!! In fact, the most complete set they had seen in a VERY LONG TIME!! They were sending off the papers to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Brasilia on Friday 12/15!! We are the first from Brasilia to have NEVER had to send any further documentation!! Now, it still has to be processed by the consulate in Brasilia, but usually this process doesn't get hung up. But of course, the holidays are coming... so we are hoping to have them in January!! Praise the Lord!!
Another Great thing is that after 5 Unfruitful Visits to the Social Security office to get Caleb a SSN... We Are Finally Getting One!!! He's been home 2 years now... and we FINALLY are getting one! YEAH!
Another Great thing is that we are meeting my friend from college to sell her my car! I did have a little moment of prayer as I sat in it, after Chris had worked all afternoon cleaning and detailing (yes, we have a 3 year old... It was NASTY!) and felt a little sad. God and I had a little chat about how He would provide for so many greater things for us later, but that we had work to do now. I really like that car... It's not easy, but necessary. God's got a "Mission" for us now. (Now hum your best Mission Impossible Theme Song) And we've Chosen to Accept it...
Prayer Requests:
~Della got Declawed yesterday, she's doing ok, and sleeping a lot, but they are sore.
~House Selling! ~Pray for house on CedarBrush to sell, so they can close our house. We are planned to close on 1/5/07, but may have to re-write the contract, if we do that we'll have to allow it to be shown again.
~Preparation, Preparation, Preparation - Unfortunately due to the business of December, we haven't had a lot of extra time to focus and prepare, both for language training and new job training.
~Jon and Rachael Isbell (and Kierra and Reagan) as they are spending their first Christmas away from home, as they serve with NICS in Rio de Janeiro.
~Our Families, as they begin to prepare for our departure, please pray for peace. This is to include our Home Group Family.
~Support! We are feeling the pinch to get our support in! As time is closing in! We are looking at around 6 weeks before we leave!!!
~Happy Birthdays this week to some of our friends and family: Trevor (turned 2), Rachel (turned 1), and Chuck (turned 36).
Brasilia forecast: High 80, Low 64 95% Chance of Rain (this is Rainy Season - they average 6.7 inches a month - About 0.25 inches a day)
Love you guys so much! So Glad that you are on this journey with us!!! Please post a comment!
