ABOUT TIME!!!

Hey!! I don't get heavy into politics, and this is definitely not the forum for debate... HOWEVER, I was on MSN.com today, and saw some clips of him. He's DOING SO AWESOME! When the interviewers asked him repeated times to degrade or criticize his opponents and the President... HE REFUSED! He simply turned the information back on his actual record, and what HE will do. That's a Refreshing change!!!!! If you guys don't really know who he is, I encourage you to check him out and decide for yourself, what you think! I'm just so REFRESHED and THRILLED that we have a Candidate that isn't mud slinging!! (YET, anyway!) I don't have ALL the details, and of course, without any kind of US Newspaper to follow, there is a lot I don't know!! I just encourage you to check him out yourself!

I LIKE MIKE! FROM BRAZIL!! :)
~Beverly - Signed personally... My views do not necessarily also represent my husband's views! I'll give him time to review!! :)

Staff Bowling

Last weekend all the staff went on a Bowling Outing! We had such a blast! We all acted like a bunch of Goof Balls, and nearly got kicked out! Wouldn't that be a great thing to model for all the kids?!?! It was so great to get together, off campus, and have some "Let your hair down" time! The night ended with a big Wet Willy Fight, and Loud Cheering for the Gutter Balls! It was great to relax and have fun!! Photo #1 is Caleb and Kaylee, having a blast together! Photo #2 is Katie, Me, Laura, and Stacy. Photo #3 is Kaylee, Christie, Daniel, Josh, Caleb, Scott, and Beth. Daniel teaches 3rd and 4th Grade, and Beth teaches music and 2nd grade.
I'll be sending out another post and email soon. The months of April and May will be VERY busy!! But it will make the days past quickly, and then we'll be home in June! Who's up for Mi Pueblo?? or On the Border??
MUCH LOVE! Thanks for all the support!!

Easter Drama!

The Easter Drama was a hit! The kids did SO GREAT! We even had several families that normally don't go to our church come for the drama that their kids were in!! God did some serious seed planting!! He is So GREAT! Thank you for all your prayers regarding this!

Here is a pic of most of them. There were 16 kids in all that were in it!!

Here is me with Nida, Nimra, and Hira (all sisters), and Eunice. These are the Greatest Girls!!!

Drop us a note when you get a minute or two!! Love, The Fryars

Sleepover!

The Sleepover went Great! We had a blast!! We had 5 girls come! We stayed up to like 4 am, and then they all were up at 7am!! We swam from 12:30 to 1:30 AM, and no one wanted to put a swim suit on, so we just swam in our clothes! Crazy!! On Saturday, we went to City Park, which is a fun little amusement park. And for 3 hours rode Roller Coasters, and all those rides that spin you in every possible conceivable circle!! My head is still spinning! By the end, we were hot and tired, so we just rode the Bumper Cars. After a while, we didn't even care if we hit anybody... we just kept driving in circles!! Too Funny!

Here are a couple of pics!!

Mini Update!

As most of you read in our last email... We attended the Pakistan National Day Reception at the Ambassador's house last Friday. It went Great! We were rubbing shoulders with Dignitaries and Diplomats... Unbelievable! We were so thankful to be invited! The ambassador's kids go to our school, as well as Several kids from Pakistan. We get to take Christ to places you can't imagine!! The Pakistani's were so gracious to make sure that we were all ok, and had plenty to eat and drink.

Also... We went to another Smash Meeting (Jr High and Sr High) this past Thursday, and it went Great! We are really loving those kids and getting to know them better! For any of you that know us... this is a little out of our comfort zone, but we really felt God leading us to these kids and to maturing our level of Discipleship! (K-3rd grade think everything you do is great!!) :) :) They are planning a Retreat in May, that we plan to help with and attend!!

Caleb is still doing so great! He loves his little friends at school, and is best buds with Nicolaus, the Pastor's son! We come home at a little before 2pm, for naps... (and yes, I let Caleb get one too!! :) :) :)

School is going great! Chris is super busy with Making Budgets! He is given a new scenario everyday to work on!! I'm still loving my kids and teaching! I'm dealing with what every teacher does, and that's that I can't stand for them to make bad grades... It hurts me!

Please pray for our impact at the school and in the community! We are getting very involved with the church, as well! I am directing the Easter Drama for the Jr High and Sr High for Easter!! Please pray that also goes well, and that Christ is displayed for the many Brazilian's, and other visitors that may not know English, that they can still "SEE" the message of the Resurrection!!

Also, I am having the Jr High and Sr High Girls over Friday night for a sleepover! Please pray that it goes well, and the lives could be impacted!! These are girls that don't usually go to outside functions, and do not attend our youth group!

Thank you so much for your support and love!! We are in awe at how God is using us, and how Wonderfully HE has placed us here at just the RIGHT Time! He is so Masterful at HIS plan... He's got this Whole Thing!!

God Bless You Today!!!!

Happy Birthday to Me!!

Yesterday was my Birthday! I had a great day! Some of my kids got me presents and cards! It was so sweet! Then last night all the staff went out for MEXICAN FOOD!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!

It wasn't like in the States, but close enough to count!! We can't find Tortilla chips here, but they had tortilla fried... that WERE CLOSE ENOUGH FOR ME!! No Cheese dip, but they did have Salsa! We had a great time! Here are a few pics of the night!!

Della Has Cousins!!!

Today, Chris was walking down the driveway from the mailbox, and happened to look up. Can you see them?

Look Closer...

Even Closer...

Do you seen them????????

Two Sweet Little Kitties resting under the eve of our roof!!!
Aren't they Cute!!! I know... I know... Don't feed the animals...
But look how sweet and innocent and cute they are!!! And THEY SPEAK PORTUGUESE!!
We can hollar "Kitty, Kitty" to them all day, and they ignore us...
But if you Hollar "Gato, Gato" they look quickly! Of course, we aren't thinking of taming them or anything... but nice to have some little furry friends!

International Fair

We had our Big International Fair last Friday! It went so well!! So Amazing to see so many cultures and families on one campus. The classes were all separated into different Continents, and each kid had to present on a Specific Country. The parents then came in FULL Home Country Outfits and brought Food from their home country! It was so neat! Chris and Daniel were the Passport Agents! Each parent had a passport that they would get stamped at each of the 3 places they attended. There were six total groups, but because of time, and to limit chaos they had everybody just go to three (pre-picked) areas. It was done VERY well!!

Here is a picture of me with my 2 girls in my Algebra class, Nida and Eunice. And Nida's mom. They are two great girls!! Of course, I love all my kids!!

I'm going to post a larger post soon! Thank you for your support and love!!!

Great Week!

It's been a really great week here! This past weekend it was so Hot, that we actually got 5 loads of laundry done! That's huge!! It usually takes 2 days for one load to dry on line. But we got hang them outside, and even got to wash sheets and sleep on them the same day!!!

We also got to lay out by the pool for a while as well. It was quite relaxing. Chris and I were funny about it... we called it WAVES. When the sun would come out it would be so hot, then we'd get relief from the clouds. It was great! We timed the WAVES so that we would not burn too bad. I'm posting a couple of cute pics.
Behold... Could that be... TAN coming up on Chris?!?!?!? Amazing things are happening all the way around!! :)

Can't get any cute than this!!

Much Love!

Cute Caleb Pics!

I couldn't leave you without at least 2 cute Caleb Pics!!!

He is doing so Great!! The Brazilian's LOVE him!! He breaks through all our language barriers!
He loves his little Class! His teachers are so great! They wear uniforms everyday, but this pic was taken on Dress Down Day, so they got to wear whatever they wanted. He's not LOVING the pool yet. He like so to play on the steps, but not liking being out in the big water yet. He will soon, I'm sure!

Prayer Requests and Praises!!

Just a Few Prayer Requests and Praises to be noted!!

*Today is my 8 year anniversary of when I was diagnosed with Cancer. Feb 22nd 1999 will of course always be a day I remember. So Praise the Lord that I remain Cancer Free!! Praise the Lord for all the Amazing things he has done with My Cancer story, and Most of all... Praise the Lord for Caleb, who would not be here without my Cancer experience! Go God!!

*Praise - Chris (the fella buying our house) GOT HIS JOB and they will be closing by the end of the Month!!! YEAH!!!!! They actually moved in last Friday to "rent" until all those details were resolved! Thank you, Lord, for both us and them!!!

*Praise - Laura (one of our teachers) was able to lead a High Schooler to the Lord on Friday!! (See her pic on the picture website.)

*Praise - that our friend Ashley's Grandmom did not have cancer, as they had thought!!

*Prayer Request: Please pray for one of our Brazilian teacher's aides, CORA, her son John who is 20 was just diagnosed with Leukemia. They are flying to the states this weekend to seek treatment. They are selling everything and will not likely return. Her son Pedro was one of my 4th Graders. Please get before the Throne on their Behalf!! They come from a Catholic background, but we aren't sure of a personal relationship with Christ.

*Prayer Request: Please pray for Caleb, as he has been having nose bleeds off and on. I think it's mostly related to the drier air, and higher altitude. I will be calling his pediatrician next week if it continues.

*Prayer Request: Please pray with us as we consider the purchase of a car. We live a good 10 minutes drive from the school, and are relying on the Brazilian maintance man from the school for transportation. They have been gracious, but please pray for wisdom and discernment.

*Prayer Request: Please pray for our students! They are a great bunch, but come from many different backgrounds. Many Muslim. It was a great thing to hear them doing prayer requests and taking turns praying in my 4th and 6th grade classes today. Pray that God prepares their hearts! Also... I am praying about having the Jr High Girls (and possibly the Sr high too) over one night for a sleep over. They all want to, and have said their parents would be for that... I just have to approve through the right channels!

*Prayer Request: Please pray for the Isbell Family that is in Rio. They are also considering a purchase of a car. They have so many kids that need rides to church on Sunday, that they would love to pick up and take, but are unable to. Please also pray for their ministry.

~Thank you so much for going to the Throne with these Requests! Your prayers are felt and appreciated!!!

Because He said "Go,"

We're HERE!!!!

Hey Guys!!! We are indeed here!! Sorry that I have been absent from the Board, but we didn't get Internet access until yesterday!
We arrived safe and sound, and Shell Shocked on Feb 8th! The Flight, all in all, went fine. We did miss a flight in Rio because of a cancellation, but we were able to get on the next one and get to Brasilia with all limbs intact. On our long overnight flight, just before we landed in Rio. The sun was rising and everyone was starting to stir around... Caleb looked at us and said, "I want to go home." Chris and I looked at each other... Gulped, and then slowly and quietly said, "We are going home... Our New Home." The old house won't be there as we know it, when we return, even though we have tons of friends and family that will make it feel like home again this summer. That was a humbling experience for us!!! We WERE in fact GOING HOME... Let that sink in a minute...

We got to the airport and met up with Scott who brought us to our New House! It was So Pretty!! We are so blessed! Here is a picture of it, but make sure that you visit our Picture site to see them all.
http://cbcfryar.dotphoto.com/
There is a link to the right.
We really like our house... it's a little different than most of the houses here. Most of the houses have the house within about 10 feet of the front gate and the yard is all in the back. Our house was built with the yard, and pool in the front. We really like it, and we have a great view of the New JK Bridge too.

The school is Great and the kids are Awesome!! They come from 22 different Countries!! I am teaching All Math... which in itself is a little NUTS! I'm teaching 4th, 6th, and 8th Grade Math, and Algebra I. I really enjoy it and am having a blast with the kids. They all think I'm funny! And as Alice would say... "But Looks aren't everything!" :) Chris is the Business Manager, and is doing a great job getting all the books together and budgets made and all. Caleb is in the PreK - 3 year old class. That class usually only goes through lunch, but because I teach until 1:40 most days, he stays with the 4 year olds and then we head home for his nap. I really like having the afternoons off.

Life here is different... We Aren't in Kansas Anymore, Toto!! Even though I knew in my head the grocery store would be different... I wasn't quite prepared for it. Everything is made from scratch here... including vegetables... No Canned Green Beans! You can find Canned Corn (but it's really hard corn!!) and Canned Peas (Not very good either). No frozen vegetables or even regular frozen pizza. We are adapting though. You just have to cook your meat, veggies, and rice or whatever all separate! No Casseroles with Cream Soups either! I can make some Great Spaghetti though!! :) And we do have Ramen Noodles... so all else fails... We have soup! We also have located Doritos and Twix that taste like home! The Coke "Light" is actually BETTER than Diet Coke!!! All in All, we are settling in quite well, and much better than I had prepared for us to be. It is quite different to be dependant on people all the time. We have to have someone call for us for any business thing, or have someone go with us for even the simple things. I did order Pizza though!! :) But it never came! I'm going to try again! :) It's not about what YOU know how to say... you have to know what THEY are going to say!! We did go on a little outing to McDonald's and I did really good, until she was asking me about upsizing. I didn't know what she was saying! I just heard "Grande" and I said, "Sim... Grande". So we got a TON of food! But boy was it good!! Really tasted pretty close to home!

I know I promised pictures of the toilet water swirling backwards, but the toilet water doesn't SWIRL here. It just goes down and then water come behind it. Oh... that's another kind of inconvenient thing... we can't flush toilet paper down the toilets! NO WHERE... not even in Businesses, or at the school, or at restaurants. Inconvenient, but not that hard to adapt to.

The weather here is Great! We sweated a lot the first week!! It rains almost everyday, but it usually cools things off. Sometimes, though, if the sun comes right out... then it's hot again, and STICKY!! I love wearing sandals to work everyday, and flip flops all the rest of the time!!

All in All, we are SO Incredibly Blessed! God is So Good to us!! We feel so welcomed by the staff and the students, we haven't skipped a beat! Thank you for your prayers and support and I hope to be posting every couple of days or so, so please check back!

SO MUCH LOVE!!

THE VISA'S ARE HERE!!!!

The Visa's Are Here!!! We have them now!!!!! YEAH!!!

AMAZING GRACE!! God is So Good!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PRAYING THEM HERE!!!

WE TRUELY APPRECIATE EVERYONE'S SUPPORT AND LOVE!! WE ARE SO EXCITED!!! And they sent us $100 BACK!! :) :)

They came this morning around 9:00am. Our postal fella brought them specially this morning before his run! I was squealing while signing the papers, still in my Pajamas!! It was SO cold standing there!! I didn't feel it though... could have probably run around the house a couple of times, I'm sure the neighbors would have love that... Here's the Headline "Local Missionary Couple Running through the Snow in Pajamas... do they know they AREN'T in Brazil YET?!?!?!?"

We feel SO UTTERLY BLESSED and THANKFUL! The outpouring of support and love throught this whole process has been truely amazing, and we thank you dearly for it!!

We're on our way.... We worked for 8 hours today packing, trashing, and storing, while our Precious Anita had a BALL with Caleb! We were so thankful for that time. You know... after all the stuff we have sold, and as EMPTY as our house was... you wouldn't think that we still had SO MUCH STUFF left to take care of!! NUTS!! We now have a DISASTER AREA in our living room, as everything we own is now there for the "6 Suitcase Shuffle!!" Forget the Superbowl Shuffle... TRY THIS!! Oh... and by the way... none can weigh over 50 pounds! Now that's a CONTEST! Bears vs Colts... NAHHHH... Come over here for some REAL FUN!! :)

We did get some Good Advice from Sissy... She said "Pack what you NEED, not what you THINK you MIGHT NEED!" Great Advice... but what about the "I've been told I NEED this", and the "But I love it so much, I NEED THIS" and of course the "Honey, I know you hate that shirt, but I love it... So you NEED THAT TOO!" I AM by ADMISSION a Habitual OverPacker!! I'll never forget the way Stella, our Social Worker from Hong Kong, looked at us when we got there with our suitcases that we had to Lug Up about a BILLION and TWO Stairs!! She couldn't believe it... but Boy Howdy... I had EVERYTHING! They offered to take us to get some Tylenol and some Diapers.. I HAD IT! I even had FOOD! I had everything, and we USED everything! Our only Saving Grace is that we'll be home this summer to reload, if we need to!

FORECAST: Monday - Wednesday: DOG COLD! Thursday: Nice, Sunny and 82 Degrees!! Can you beat a Forecast like that?! Can you just see us kicked back sipping some Crazy Fruity Drink out of a Pineapple??? Of course, I'm sure the folks at BIS will soon put us to some SERIOUS work! :) :) We were thankful the Lord brought some Snow for us to see for the last time, in who knows how long! It's so pretty and Graceful!

Anyway... that's all for us now! I'll post again right before we go, and then of course a TON after we get there!! Check in on us Often... You just never know what will be happening!
Much Love!!!
The Fryar's HEADING to the Field! Finally!! Please keep in touch, and post a comment or two!

Brazil Sites

Hey!! Here are some cool Brazil sites to find out everything you ever wanted to know... and MORE about Brazil!

www.brazilbrazil.com - this one is about all of Brazil with some emphasis on Rio

www.geocities.com/TheTropics/3416/index.htm - this one is specifically about Brasilia, with lots of neat pictures of their architecture.

Check them out!! Hard to believe we'll be there NEXT WEEK!!

Please pray for the VISA's. I have sent our passports to Miami, for them to be stamped and returned to us. Please pray that this can be done soon!! They arrived yesterday.

Much Love,
Beverly
